The Mississippi Kites Take to the Sky!!!

I started out this beautiful day watering my garden with my camera on my shoulder.
I was so excited to have recorded the baby falcons flying!
God's Creation is so amazing...

One of the babies is not confident enough to fly so the mamma has to kind of push him off the branch.
The other one just follows.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy the short clip.

This army hat belonged to Uncle Russell when he was drafted in the Korean War.
He passed it on to Eric when he was a little boy.

The True Story

It really wasn't moved with just a "click and a snap."
And I did not want anyone to think that it had. So now, I am posting the  pictures of how the shed was really moved.
It was pretty tricky but, not hard.
But since I didn't do most of the work...  Michael, Cameron, Jeremy and Eric might all have something to say about it.
Eric  came up with the idea of using a jack to lift the shed and put 4x4's down to act as a sort of track. The shed would then roll on 3 steel poles that would act as "wheels".
Of course, when we ran out of track or rollers guess who had to do the work??? Me!  J/K
We used the car to push or pull the shed at times.
The shed was secured to nearby trees as anchors to keep it from toppling.
There was some fast scrambling and some hollering when we all thought we might lose the shed down a 3 foot swell on one side of our property.
Nobody was hurt and over all we had a great time working together.

P.S. The shed still is not where it needs to be.

The Moving of "The Shed" to
 Stonehenge

It has been moved!
It no longer sits directly behind our house.
It was moved just like the stones were in Old Britain.

He picked it up...
It was done (with a click and a snap) just like that...

Ok. Ok. Well....Yes Eric did use help.
Can you tell that these two were working really hard???
They look it.  Right??

How about Cameron ???

If Elyse hadn't been using all her face muscles
who knows were we'd be!!!

Here is our greatest helper!

Our Beautiful Mississippi Kites

We think that these are the same birds
that were here last year.
This year we've all taken an interest in them.
 They are pretty amazing.

We got to see one of the babies!
Popped his head up and just watched us from the safety of his mother's wings.

The daddy and mamma bird take turns
hunting and sitting in the nest.

They are a very small bird of prey.
A wing span of only 3 feet!
They eat insects such as cicadas ,grasshoppers and such.
(Wish we had one of those long lenses for my camera
but, the scope worked pretty well for this shot.)

  Michael Eric is now 13!!!

Again,  I am amazed at how fast time flies by...
wish it would slow down sometimes. =)

All I did was wink at Eric and he let Michael
have a face full of whipping cream.

I kind of felt bad that I sort of instigated
the whole idea.... kind of.  =)

It is always a treat to be able to share your birthdays
with friends and family!

Matthew's Favorite Book

Jesse Bear, What will you wear?

Matthew begs any of his siblings to read to him.

All he does is hold out the book and say PLEASE!

He explaining to Jeremy and Elyse what is going on.

Life is serious.
And right now it consists of bears named Jesse. =)
